Kiawah Island Ocean Course
Pete Dye design of 1991, the War on the Shore Ryder Cup
Overview
The Ocean Course was built on a barrier island with ten holes on the Atlantic, and staged the 1991 Ryder Cup, the War on the Shore. Bernhard Langer missed the decisive putt at the 18th. The 2012 PGA Championship, won by Rory McIlroy by eight, played to a scoring record for toughness.
