Pine Valley
George Crump design of 1918, ranked number one in America for decades
Overview
Pine Valley is a cathedral of sandy scrub and crippled waste, each hole isolated in its own world. It has topped American course rankings for most of a century. Crump died before it opened and the club stayed strict and private. The huge bunker cluster short of the 10th green is folklore.
