Royal Lytham and St Annes
First staged the Open in 1926, surrounded by red brick and railways
Overview
Lytham is the most urban of English links, an inland ribbon of 166 bunkers and small greens. Bobby Jones won the 1926 Open with his famous mashie recovery to the 17th. Seve Ballesteros, Gary Player and Ernie Els all won here, and Els took 2012 when Adam Scott faltered late.
