Sunningdale Old
Willie Park Jr design of 1901, the first great inland course
Overview
The Old Course proved golf could be sublime away from the sea, carved through Berkshire heath and pines. Bobby Jones called a 66 here in 1926 the finest round he ever played. It remains the benchmark for every heathland course built since.
