Clifftop municipal course of the 2008 Tiger Woods US Open
Overview
Owned by the City of San Diego, Torrey Pines opened in 1957 on bluffs above the Pacific. The South Course was lengthened for championship play and hosted the 2008 US Open, won by Tiger Woods in a playoff over Rocco Mediate while playing on a broken leg. Jon Rahm won the 2021 US Open there, and it hosts an annual PGA Tour event.
