Turnberry Ailsa
Seaside links reworked by Mackenzie Ross after the war, with the Ailsa Craig as backdrop
Overview
Turnberry hosted the 1977 Duel in the Sun between Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus and the 2009 Open where Stewart Cink beat a 59 year old Watson in a playoff. The lighthouse beside the ninth marks a wartime airfield. It returned to the rota in 2017.
